Comparison of Damage Indexes for Assessing Seismic Fragility of Bearings in an Offshore Bridge

This study analyzes the applicability of different damage indexes for bearings, focusing on time-dependent deterioration materials and bond-slip behavior between steel concrete caused by chloride erosion. First, methodology is proposed, encompassing materials, behavior, quantification bearing, fragility analysis bearings. Next, an offshore bridge used as example to investigate detailed elements components time-varying effects. Thereafter, based incremental dynamic analysis, discussion focuses comparison assessing seismic bearings in bridge. indicates that if relative displacement ductility ratio adopted criterion, coverage PGA obtained theoretical method 167% greater than using empirical method, ratio, which incorporates shear deformation piers, better aligned with performance-based design concept offers economy. Safety-based are recommended zones, while economy-based can be favorable environments.
